With previous experience in sales administration and bookkeeping, Sharon has worked in the real estate industry since 1998. She is a fully licenced real-estate agent with a Certificate IV in Business (Real Estate Practice). Since starting with the company as a Franchise Co-ordinator in April 2002, Sharon Kupsch has witnessed much growth and change at Harcourts Victoria. At the time trading as MPRE, the business laid claim to just five offices, and Sharon worked solely alongside the director. Fast forward to today, and Sharon works as the Executive Assistant in a corporate team of nine with over 74 Harcourts offices operating across Victoria. February 2017 will mark the ten-year anniversary of MPRE joining forces with Harcourts. Her history in the organisation means she is across a lot of the business, so her day to day tasks vary widely, and she often completes errands around the office without a second thought. In addition to co-workers, Sharon interacts with business owners, salespeople, administrators and franchisees.
The second aspect of Sharon’s role involves the co-ordination of events and marketing. She specifically oversees brand compliance and the roll-out of marketing campaigns for Harcourts Victoria. At the beginning of 2016, Sharon was at the forefront of managing a brand refresh, with a view to modernising the look and feel of Harcourts. She assists with the organisation of training days and awards nights. The awards are in a sit-down dinner format; the quarterly awards experience a turn-out of approximately 280 people, and annual awards experience a turn-out of 400 people. When preparing for the national conference, Sharon works alongside the national events coordinator Catherine.
Following a common theme in the Victorian corporate office, Sharon doesn’t hesitate when asked what the best part of working at Harcourts is: “The culture and the people, it just attracts good people”. The supportive environment fosters a sense that co-workers can be “brutally honest with each other and no-one takes any great offence”. It is this culture which enables Harcourts employee to do their best work, and achieve the greatest results for the company and their clients.
